statement
Welcome. My work is primarily about nature, water and earth. The work contemplates nature’s generous brilliance in abundant forms. The contemporary paintings, mixed media pieces and photographs I produce often correlate to examples of nature’s creations. Natural world creations which are subject to persistent assault by manmade threats. Mixed media acrylic paintings and collages may combine textures, paint skins, my original prints, and/or handmade papers. Mixed media photographs may combine photography and painting as digital photo montages. My work is influenced by the philosophies of wabi sabi and intimate immensity. Through my art I explore how these concepts apply to the natural world colliding or co-existing with human nature. As an innately curious person I experiment to find new approaches via art processes or materials. I hope you will enjoy and engage with my work, and perhaps reflect and consider our place and role in and for the natural environment.
